Doris Duke's Hawaii

Shangri-La overlooking the Pacific and Diamond Head, built soon after Duke embarked on her honeymoon with her first husband James Cromwell. The house incorporates Islamic architectural elements brought back from her travels, and houses her collection of Islamic art which she acquired over six decades. The collection comprises 3500 objects spanning many centuries.
